Siha was founded in 1954 by Pia and Otto Simma, the parents of the current owner and manager, Otto Simma junior. At first Siha manufactured with only a few employees and a few manual knitting machines knitwear for the regional market. After the expansion of the company in 1964, the first automatic flat knitting machines, at that time based on punch cards, were placed in service and a network of sales representatives was developed.
Now SIHA supplied clients from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
After the early death of Pia Simma, in 1973, the private collection of the company was discontinued. Siha was remodeled into a successful manufacturer in CMT system for international famous brands such as ARMANI, BOSS, JOOP, ESCADA and MARC CAIN. In the 80’s, all three children of the initial founders, Sybille Linz, Martin Simma and Otto Simma junior, were working in the company. Otto Simma senior transferred the management of the company to his son, Otto Simma junior.
The structural changes in the clothing industry and the new orientation of the high-grade clients also to less expensive production countries, inevitably lead to the closing of the production unit in Germany in the spring of 1994.
At the end of 1994, Otto Simma junior established the new SIHA Romania. In the summer of 1995 the production was resumed there with the first 20 seamstresses. In 2000 the company had already over 300 employees. In May 2000 the Knitting Department was also relaunched with modern Stoll CMS flat knitting machines.
Nowadays, SIHA operates, besides the main production unit in Satu Mare, in three other own production branches. Of these, two units are specialized in the manufacturing of jersey garments. We have constantly over 300 employees and have over 30 modern flat knitting machines in service.
Quality, flexibility, punctuality and dynamism are the main factors of the success of SIHA.
